About

I’m a Seattle-based poet, fiction writer and journalist. In recent years I’ve crossed the Pacific eight times on a container ship to study how the ocean absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide for my PhD in oceanography at the University of Washington. I’ve also spent a year in Iceland as a Fulbright fellow in creative writing. Find out more about my journalism and creative work. At the moment I’m a resident at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.
